Menopause Consultancy
From April 2026, employers with more than 250 employees are being encouraged to publish Menopause Action Plans. This can feel overwhelming, but we are here to help. We can provide clear guidance and support writing this plan. Menopause care is our expertise.
Individual consultations
Individual consultations with a British Menopause Society accredited advanced menopause specialist is the gold standard in menopause care. Each consultation is a full hour of time with an expert. Pre- questionnaires and registration forms completed by the employee provide the background information for the consultation to flow from. Individually suitable, holistic, evidence-based treatments are discussed and medications can be prescribed privately. The private prescriptions and consultation notes are provided for the employee to purchase or discuss with their NHS provider. Follow up consultations for 30 minutes, or 15 minute check-ins are also possible for continuity of care.
Group consultations
Group consultations are a new way of providing menopause care. The groups are for a max of five women in a two hour session with a British Menopause Society accredited advanced menopause specialist. They each provide their pre-questionnaire, registration form and sign a confidentiality agreement beforehand. They join the secure video link and listen to each others consultations. The groups are usually a lot of fun with a shared experience, peer support and lots of information shared. They have the benefit of individual and holistic assessment, bespoke evidence-based treatment plans, private prescriptions and a copy of their individual consultation notes. Email queries following the consultation are included, and group or individual follow up consultations are available for continuity of care.
Webinars and in-house talks
We can work with you to provide educational events for your employees, creating a culture of openness and normalising the conversation about menopause.Book your introductory call
Schedule a ‘workplace menopause support introductory call’ with our clinical director Dr Lorraine Kemp using the link.
We can either schedule a virtual group consultation for up to five women lasting 2 hours at a suitable time, or individual consultations for one hour.
We require your employees to complete the pre-questionnaire, and registration form. For group consultations the participants will also need to complete a confidentiality agreement prior to the meeting. For CQC compliance we need them to upload a copy of their ID. For private prescriptions, we also need an up to date blood pressure reading. Most pharmacies and GP waiting rooms have access to blood pressure checks.
For telemedicine appointments please ensure good internet connection and privacy before connecting to the video consultation.
Dr Lorraine Kemp
Dr Lorraine Kemp, MBBS BSc MRCGP, is the founder and clinical director of Coastal GP Menopause Consultancy. She is a friendly and approachable GP working within the NHS and private sectors. Dr Kemp has over 18 years of experience. Her recent roles have included being Clinical Lead for a local district general hospital’s Urgent Treatment Centre, and working for four years as an online private GP for a leading private medical insurer. She continues to work in the NHS as a GP in surgery, at the hospital, and also working alongside her paramedic colleagues as a senior decision maker; assisting in patient pathways after being assessed by paramedics.
Her medical degree and bachelor of science were awarded from Imperial College London in 2008. Her postgraduate training was in Emergency Medicine and General Practice. She has been running a successful private aesthetic medicine clinic since 2018. In this role her clients spoke often about their menopause, and she realised the inequalities in menopause care they suffered. Her passion for menopause care was confounded by her own early menopause. She undertook training as an advanced menopause specialist with the British Menopause Society & holds regular menopause clinics. She holds regular talks, and works with businesses supporting women in the workplace,

There are options. Often hormonal blood tests are not required for diagnosing and treating perimenopause and menopause, but we do often require blood tests to exclude other causes of fatigue and screening for cardiovascular risk factors such as cholesterol and diabetes. We also need a baseline testosterone level before initiating testosterone.
We can provide the recommended blood tests depending on the individual requirements. The patients can have self test blood tests at additional cost, or discuss the suggested tests with their NHS GP
We use a company called The Doctors Laboratory. We order the tests and they send you a kit to take the blood from a finger prick, with instructions and then you post it back to them. They give us the result to release to you. The samples are posted back to them and they process the results within 48 hours.

We are happy to answer any email query after a consultation. If they require a follow up appointment we have two options. A 30 minute consultation or a 15 minute check in.

We can write a private prescription if it is appropriate. The patient will be emailed a code that can be used in any pharmacy. The prescription is issued as part of the consultation fee. The pharmacist will charge for the private prescription medicine and this is not available through NHS prepayment cards. There is a cost at the pharmacy for private prescriptions. Any repeat prescriptions outside of the consultation have a charge of £25 plus the pharmacy cost of the medication. This service is only available for patients who have had a consultation within 12 months.
If they prefer an NHS prescription we can write to your NHS GP with our treatment recommendations. NHS prescriptions for HRT are best paid for with a prescription prepayment card. Please see the link: https://www.gov.uk/get-a-ppc/hrt-ppc

We prescribe regulated Body Identical HRT (sometimes called regulated Bio Identical HRT). This is made from plants and is identical in structure to the hormones of the body. All the hormone treatments that we prescribe are regulated and licensed so we know that they are safe and effective. We do not prescribe compounded Bioidentical hormones which are not regulated and are not recommended by the British Menopause Society.

Law update
In March 2026, the UK government launched plans for making workplaces fairer by tackling the gender pay gap and menopause support, under the Employment Rights Act 2025. From April 2026, companies with over 250 employees can voluntarily publish plans, choosing two tailored actions from government guidance, before it becomes mandatory by 2027.
Here’s what you need to know to get ahead:
What’s Required: Employers must pick at least one action for the pay gap and one for menopause support.
Key Dates: Voluntary publishing begins April 2026, with mandatory reporting expected by April 2027.
Where to Publish: Plans will be published on the official Gender Pay Gap Portal.
Action Ideas: Examples include mentoring programmes, transparent pay, flexible work options, and enhanced menopause action plans.
Why Now: This helps businesses attract and retain talent by creating supportive environments, particularly to keep women progressing at work.
